Radio for Peace Building Workshops Survey
Key Findings
The Radio for Peace Building Workshops survey
helps us understand what types of workshops are required or desired by
radio professionals and organisations around the world.
Many thanks to the 154 people who participated in the survey.
The survey is now closed, but the key findings are below. If you would like a pdf copy of the full report please email me at contact@radioforpeacebuilding.co.uk, or download it here: http://db.tt/AFG4JT
The next step is to follow up on the survey and to set up some workshops in the three main regions where demand was highest; West and East Africa, and Europe.
KEY
FINDINGS
The
survey shows that there is a demand from radio professionals for
workshops on how to use radio to build peace, in particular from West
and East Africa, perhaps reflecting the import ance of radio in those
countries.
It
also reveals that demand for such workshops is high among those who
work at community radios, but that professionals at national/state
radios, production studios and international radios also want them.
The
survey suggests that the most demanded workshop type relates to news
and current affairs (radio journalism for peace building), but that
this is closely followed by a desire for a generalised workshop on
radio for conflict prevention/management.
If
you were unable to participate in the survey, but would like to take
part in any future surveys please email contact@radioforpeacebuilding.co.uk with
your name, email address, town and country, and mobile telephone no.
